I’m really struggling with something in my relationship and could use your advice. My partner and I just aren’t talking like we used to. It feels like we’re both holding back—either we avoid tough topics, or when we do talk, it’s like we’re not really hearing each other. I’ll try to say how I’m feeling, but it comes out wrong, or they get defensive, and we just end up frustrated. Sometimes I don’t even bring things up because I’m worried it’ll start a fight. It’s making me feel disconnected, and I’m not sure how to fix it. What do you think I should do to get us communicating better? Any tips to break through this wall we’ve built?
